Traditional use
How uvos colorado has traditionally been used
In the Peruvian Amazon, uvos colorado (Spondias mombin, known locally as ubos) is traditionally used to help support monthly comfort and cycle balance, and digestive comfort (Ogunro et al., 2023). The Shipibo-Konibo of the Ucayali call the tree xexon (Tournon et al., 2014).
In traditional practice, the leaves and flowers are prepared in water, as a decoction or an infusion (Sinan et al., 2021).
What is uvos colorado? Botanical name and other names
Uvos colorado is the local name we use for Spondias mombin, known in English as yellow mombin. It's a deciduous tree with a trunk 60–75 cm wide, found across tropical America and naturalized in parts of Africa and Asia. It's also a food plant. The young leaves are cooked as greens, the green fruits are pickled and the ripe fruits are used to make wine (Sinan et al., 2021).

Why a liquid extract?
The simmering is done before Pure Moon reaches you: the inner bark is brewed over a wood fire in 30-gallon pots and hand-stirred over several days. So it's ready whenever you are: shake the bottle, then take 2–5 drops under the tongue or in a drink. It's concentrated at 40:1 (owner-stated) and comes in a 1 fl oz bottle that slips into a bag. Inside is a water extract of uvos colorado, preserved with cane alcohol, so it isn't alcohol-free.
